Ben Vane - Loch Lomond

Ben Vane (Middle Mountain) Height 3002ft (915m). *Distance 7.5 miles (12.2km).
* Based on going and coming back the same way from the Visitor Centre.

On 25th July we parked at the Inveruglas Visitor Centre which is opposite the Loch Sloy Power Station.
We then crossed the road and turned left, the entrance for the Private road to Loch Sloy is about half
a mile (0.8km) from the Visitor Centre.
Carry on up the road for approximately 1.5 miles (2.4km) where you will reach a bridge, turn left over
the bridge and a few hundred yards (metres) from bridge you will start to see the paths to ascend Ben Vane.
We picked the first one that follows a small stream for a short distance then goes diagonally to the first level.
It starts to get much steeper after this and the path takes you from one rock outcrop to another. After a few
false summits you end up with a slight scramble to the top.
