Castle
of Mey (Caithness, Scotland)
|
The Castle of Mey is situated on the north coast of Caithness,
in the parish of Canisbay, about 15 miles (24 km) east
of Thurso and 6 miles (9.7 km) west of John O'Groats.
It stands about 400 yards from the seashore, overlooking
the Pentland Firth and the Orkney Islands. HM Queen Elizabeth
The Queen Mother acquired the property in 1952 and saved
it from ruin.
Remember to check the opening times with the official
Website.
