Largs is a bustling seaside town on the Firth of Clyde
in North Ayrshire about 33 miles from Glasgow. It has
a pier where in the Summer Months the Paddle Steamer Waverley
calls in on its summer cruises. The town is quite famous
for the Battle of Largs 1263 between the Norwegian and
Scottish armies and is proud of the historic link with
the Vikings.
The Ferry to Great Cumbrae is also in Largs which also
makes an ideal day out, the bus at the other side works
in conjunction with the ferry and takes you to the island's
only town Millport.
