Diary 2005

(01) 1st January:
Happy New Year to everyone.

Unfortunately due to the tsunami this year has not got off to a good start, hopefully we can all combine together to help alleviate this disaster as soon as possible.

(02) 24th January:
Went to Inveruglas which is approximately 4 miles North of Tarbet on Loch Lomond.

The weather had been pretty poor of late and although the forecast was not the best I decided to take the opportunity to check out our next Mountain (Ben Vorlich).

I was very lucky as the day turned out quite well, the conditions were a bit difficult due to frozen grass and snow but the views were worth it, however I look forward to climbing Ben Vorlich (Loch Lomond) in the near future. (Pictures)

(03) 28th March:

This Month was quite quiet, had a couple of walks involving Damns. The Gryffe walk on the 6th of March was short but worth it. 2½ miles there and back with about a 500ft ascent. (Pictures).

The 2nd walk to Loch Sloy on the 26th of March, a 7mile walk there and back with a 1000ft ascent was a bit more taxing but the views on the day were magnificent.

When near the end and the Damn came into sight, it looked and is an engineering marvel wedged between Ben Vane on the left and Ben Vorlich on the right.

However Ben Vane on the day gave it a good run for it's money and as they say it won the man of the match award.

As for Ben Vorlich my intended target it stayed covered in mist, not dangerous but certainly would not yield any photographs from the top, so after waiting for about 1 hour decided to abandon going up for another day.

(Pictures).

(04) 29th May

Sorry for not updating the Diary sooner. I spent most of May round the hills at Loch Thom and eventually the weather allowed us to get up Ben Vorlich (Loch Lomond) on the 14th of this month.

Ben Vorlich - Loch Lomond 14th May 2005

I am going back to Tintagel (Cornwall) next week, I hope to update this Site with the above pictures when I get back.

(05) 3rd July

I apologise for the delay Ben Volich - Loch Lomond pictures now posted.

As a compromise between Broadband and Modem I have made my pictures from the 3rd July 2005 (700 x 525 Pixels), I hope this will suit all. All other pictures are (600 x 450 Pixels) except for an occasional try at (800 x 600 Pixels) which I found too large to include other information on the screen at (1024 x 768 Pixels).

Ben Vorlich.

(06) 19th July

I am trying to catch up in some of my backlog, I have just posted pictures of Creuch Hill near Loch Thom.

I have some pictures of Cornwall to add and hoping in the near future to include some pictures of North Yorkshire.

(07) 21st August

Went up North to Ullapool on the 24th July hoping to go up Stac Pollaidh on the 25th of July.
The weather on the 25th was a mixed bag but fortunately it did not rain, it was more sunny than anything else
and made ideal conditions for the walk.
